March 30, 2007 -- At electronics retailer Circuit City, more than 3,000 employees -- about 8 percent of its total work force -- have been fired for making too much money, the company says.

Circuit City Stores Inc., the nation’s second-biggest consumer electronics retailer, said Friday it had run out of options and will be forced to liquidate its 567 U.S. stores.
