2. Trio of Miniatures Arrange a trio of small potted plants in varying heights and shapes. Group them together in the center of the table or place them in a line along the length of the table.

Begin planting in the center of the side table, placing the tallest plants there and moving out toward the edges with squatter and shorter plants. Fill in the gaps with small cacti and succulents.
