The procedure was repeated in six patients (9%). Occurrence of atypical atrial flutter was observed in seven patients (11%); a repeat ablation effectively abolished this arrhythmia in these patients.

Notably, 28 (18%) patients had to undergo repeat ablation because of recurrent AF or atypical atrial flutter, after an average follow-up of 8 ± 2 months.

Real-world data show pulsed field ablation was safe and associated with 1-year freedom from atrial fibrillation or flutter for 78% of patients. Longer-term data with more patients are needed.
