Schools and local governments have announced schedule changes after snow and ice arrived in the Wilmington area Tuesday night.

Wilmington and its surrounding area are under a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service beginning Tuesday night at 9 and lasting until 8 a.m. Wednesday. Snow is expected, according to the NWS, with total accumulations up to five inches near the coast with higher amounts possible in some areas.
