Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau flew to Florida and met with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club on Friday evening, less than a week after the U.S. president-elect threatened heavy tariffs on imports from North American trading partners.

The Canadian prime minister earlier cautioned that imposing sweeping tariffs on Canadian products would only raise prices for Americans and hurt American businesses.

Trump’s transition did not respond to questions about what they had discussed or whether the conversation alleviated Trump’s concerns about the border.
