The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works will be closing several streets ahead of Wednesday’s predicted snowfall.

The City of Pittsburgh is closing several streets overnight due the possibility of snow and slick roads. Councilman Anthony Coghill posted on Facebook that the streets will close at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Snow is on the way back to the Pittsburgh area Wednesday night, coupled with gusty winds and a blast of colder air. Areas closer to Interstate 80 and typical lake effect zones will pick up higher snow totals.

Light rain and snow could linger through the afternoon hours. A historic winter storm, fueled by powerful lake-effect snow, has crippled portions of western and northern New York. The first major lake effect snow pounded portions of the Northeast and Midwest this past weekend.
