The Princess of Wales has issued a heartfelt personal statement in the lead-up to several high-profile engagements. Kate, 42, who is gradually resuming her Royal duties after being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment, shared a message to mark the beginning of Addiction Awareness Week.

In a message penned in support of Addiction Awareness Week, the Princess of Wales said that progress is being made in tackling the prejudice and stigma around addiction and urged people to show kindness and empathy in order to break down barriers.

Addiction Awareness Week which begins on Saturday and this year has the theme ‘addiction affects everyone but recovery is possible’.
