A 12-year-old boy was arrested in Eastern Washington after police say he drove a stolen car 161 miles across the state, later leading deputies on a chase Wednesday morning.

A 12-year-old Washington boy is facing charges for allegedly stealing his grandfather’s car and driving it some 160 miles across the state before leading deputies on a “brief” chase.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A 12-year-old boy from the Issaquah area is accused of stealing his grandfather’s car and driving it to Eastern Washington. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says Issaquah police called them Wednesday, asking them to keep an eye out for the boy. They said he might be heading to the Moses Lake area.

The boy, who has not been identified, led police on a brief pursuit after being spotted with the stolen vehicle.
