Federal officials have seized more than $18 million in fake Gibson guitars in what was the largest counterfeit musical instrument seizure in history.

At a glance, the Gibson guitars look like some of the most coveted six-stringed instruments in the world, including signature models played by Dave Grohl that sell for up to $10,000 and some that looked as if they had been autographed by Slash.

The seizure of more than 3,000 Gibson guitars through the L.A.-Long Beach port complex is the largest counterfeit musical instrument seizure on record, authorities said.
