Minneapolis City Council Member Emily Koski announced her candidacy for mayor, seeking to unseat Jacob Frey at a time she says the city is "at a crossroads."

Koski announced her campaign on Wednesday morning, just two days after state Senator Omar Fateh announced his campaign for Minneapolis mayor.

Ward 11 Minneapolis City Council Member Emily Koski officially launched her bid for mayor, joining State Sen. Omar Fateh in challenging incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey.

She joins Minnesota DFL Sen. Omar Fateh and the Rev. DeWayne Davis of Plymouth Congregational Church in challenging Mayor Jacob Frey, who’s running for reelection.

Minneapolis City Councilmember Emily Koski announced Wednesday morning that she will enter the race for mayor. Koski, who represents the Nokomis area of south Minneapolis, was first elected to City Council in 2021.
