Our Story Gallery Leather has a history that we are proud of. What started out as a very small shop has grown into a company with around 35 employees who are some of the most talented, hardworking, honest, and kindest people you will ever meet. The pride they take in their work is evident in every piece we make. Gallery Leather is not just a place where people come to earn a paycheck. It is a family. When the founder of the company passed away, the team planted an apple tree in front of our building as way to honor David. For the next 15 years the new owner passionately lead the team, putting people over profits by ensuring that the employees and their children had health insurance that was paid for by the company. As the owner contemplated retirement, he made sure that the next owner would be a good steward of the company and look out for the employees by remaining committed to keeping the production here in Maine.
