In 1969, OARS became the first exclusively, non-motorized rafting company authorized by the National Park Service to run trips on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. In 1987, Grand Canyon Dories founder and conservationist, Martin Litton, passed the reins to OARS founder, George Wendt, so that he could carry on the dory legacy. Today, OARS & Grand Canyon Dories maintain an ongoing commitment to conservation and responsible travel through unequaled access to more rivers—by raft or dory—than any other organization in the world.

Hi mike, Would love to incorporate a trip on the Colorado river about 7 days within our USA road trip from England We would like to spend 1 night at phantom ranch and the other nights .... who knows .... We are a fit couple in early 70’s are we too old ??? Like walking, but possibly not hiking. So I think reading most itineraries would need to join possibly up or is it down river . Any advice would be greatly appreciated Looking to travel September 2019 Margaret Burton
