The problem is that Bing Maps API determines which location is closest based on a straight line distance rather than a route distance. Simply put, if there is no direct route between two locations, the straight line distance can be misleading, particularly if another location is accessible via a direct route.
The redirect_uri variable in WebAuthHelper.php is the same as the one I specified when I registered the app on the "Web" platform in the Azure portal, minus the protocol and domain (those are automatically appended). - I am using OAuthWebAuthCodeGrant in OAuth2Callback.php, as was already specified in the walkthrough.
Essentially it will parse the data as well, but it will use built in tools in Bing Maps to do this. Alastairs book "Beginning Spatial with SQL 2008" has a good example on how to do this. If you don't have the book just search for it. I believe one of the sample chapters covers the syndication of GeoRSS.

First of don't shrink your data files, it will cause heavy fragmentation. There are lot of articles out there explaining why shrink is evil. You can Google/Bing for getting them. How big a log are you trying to shrink?
